I won’t lie: I spend a lot of time thinking about going back to Martha’s Vineyard. Meanwhile, I frequent sites like The Black Dog which are happy to let me relive my vacation through retail therapy. Christmas may be over, but this is the ideal time to find excellent bargains for next year. Although I’ve had positive experiences with buying gingerbread kits in the past, this Gingerbread House Pan strikes a nice balance between easy and made from scratch. And, it’s a steal.

Last night I made this Upside-Down Pear Gingerbread Cake. It’s easy to make and has a pretty good wow factor. I think it would make a great holiday dessert, but don’t skimp on the vanilla ice cream as I did.
