I won’t lie: I spend a lot of time thinking about going back to Martha’s Vineyard. Meanwhile, I frequent sites like The Black Dog which are happy to let me relive my vacation through retail therapy. The Black Dog is having a holiday sale of 25% off. Merchandise includes this utterly adorable Santa Puppy.

I’m posting this Christmas tree ornament mobile how-to from not martha now, because eleven months is about how long it would take me to pull it off. But, the results are stunning.

Christmas may be over, but this is the ideal time to find excellent bargains for next year. Although I’ve had positive experiences with buying gingerbread kits in the past, this Gingerbread House Pan strikes a nice balance between easy and made from scratch. And, it’s a steal.

Last night I made this Upside-Down Pear Gingerbread Cake. It’s easy to make and has a pretty good wow factor. I think it would make a great holiday dessert, but don’t skimp on the vanilla ice cream as I did.

This Merry & Bright card by Snow & Graham is both elegant and whimsical. I love the colors and the design, and their description includes my new favorite alliterative phrase, “tangled tannenbaum.”

In case you’re in need of ideas, check out this Wikipedia article about Christmas dinner around the world. Turkey is a pretty popular choice, but I think tamales would be a lot more fun!

I’m tempted not to share this at all, because I have to keep some secrets for myself, but The New York Times has a 2010 Holiday Gift Guide. There are many book recommendations as well as ideas for DVDs and electronics. Topping it off is a excellent selection of home and decorating gifts.
